All students have begun working or are a couple of days into working on the school supply vocabulary. By the end of this mini-unit they should be able to politely interrupt someone and ask for something they need, in this case a school supply. Students do need to be able to spell the words. I am attaching a document that I will be starting to use with students for time in class to work on vocabulary. I will be working with students to train them on how to use different vocabulary learning activities independently so they have more choice in how they use their vocabulary practice time. They can also use the same strategies at home to vary how the study vocabulary. The first page is for students who prefer to use online resources and the second is for students who prefer more hands on type practice. I do still recommend that students doing the hands on practice make use of the test feature at least so they can get accurate feedback about spelling and accents that they might miss during their practice.
