Students in Spanish 1B worked on finishing touches for their holidays in Spanish-speaking countries presentation that they completed with a group. Most classes have presented, with the exception of 1st hour. They will present this week. The kids did a nice job contacting native speakers to get a first hand account about holidays. I will be posting links to some of the presentations soon, as they were done collaboratively in Google Presentation. Students also completed or will have tomorrow (I hope!) a quiz on high frequency irregular and stem-changing verb conjugations. Please do be checking the grade book to make sure your child is up to date on work. There have not been a lot of grades this trimester, partially due to interruptions in January for snow days, presentations and a couple days I had to be out.
Students are in the middle of a unit based on resources from the movie Frozen, in Spanish. They have been using authentic resources intended for native speakers of Spanish, with support. They have or will be watching trailers and and excerpt from the movie, reading about the singer who interpreted the theme song in Spanish and listening to an interview with her, as well as listening to the song. Students at the end of the unit should be able to speak and write about scenes from a portion of the movie, as well as identify pictures when the scenes are described.
